What a lot of snow we have had this last week! It feels like all we do is shovel, plow, rinse and repeat. The other day I was able to capture this photo and before I took the picture I remember thinking “Wow” what a Wonderlan
d we live in around here. This beautiful side road near Jack’s Lake had fresh snow on it and it just made for a perfect picture. What a beautiful drive around the lake that morning.
Living in cottage country makes people think of summer weather, out swimming and boating and fishing, too many times we forget about the beautiful winter months that you can spend at your cottage. Going out for a beautiful walk in the woods with your snowshoes, ice fishing or snowmobiling and than cozying up to the woodstove with a coffee and baileys or a hot chocolate while you warm up. We truly live in one of the most beautiful areas of Ontario and just because the snow flies it doesn’t mean there is an end to the fun that can be had around here. What a beautiful winter escape in lovely North Kawartha Ontario. Minutes to the quaint village of Apsley where you can do most of your shopping or take a drive to the bit bigger village of Lakefield Ontario, where there are coffee shops, beautiful and unique stores to find that perfect gift for someone special, or just take in the sites. The Kawartha’s are one of a kind 🙂
Enjoy the Kawarthas and all it has to offer from the Nordic Ski Club, Sir Sam’s Ski Hill near Haliburton, winter camping at Silent Lake Provincial Park or a day on the trails snowmobiling.
